Spooktacular Pumpkin Designs!

What a very creative lot you all are – we are very impressed with all the entries so far to this year’s Pumpkin competition! Some of the email communication about the Pumpkin Competition was incorrect. Pumpkin Carving Competition Goes Online!

It’s that time of year. Time to get your pumpkin carving skills going. This year we can’t do a spooky pumpkin parade, but we can do an online competition! So carve a pumpkin at home and send a photo of it (along with the child’s name and year group – *no children in the photos please*) to friendsoffishergateschool@gmail.com and make a donation via https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/fishergate-pumpkins

The photos will all be displayed here on the school website and our fantastic school volunteer Mr Bartlett will pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners from EYU / KS1 and from KS2. Winners will receive a beautiful certificate and a spooky prize. And all funds raised go to the fabulous charity https://www.carecent.org.uk/our-purpose/

Amazing Pumpkins!

The pumpkin display looked FANTASTIC – and a huge thank you to helped make the Friends of Fishergate event a spooktacular success. What a clever and creative lot you Fishergate folk are!

All your brilliant pumpkins on display! Many thanks to all of you who attended the disco, helping us raise funds for school. Special thanks to all those people who volunteered to help too.Have a great weekend!

The return of the cake sale!

Friends of Fishergate are delighted to announce that the Autumn term brings the return to the lower hall of the fabulous Fishergate cake sale! We’d really appreciate if parents and carers could bring a contribution (no nuts please!) – or lend a hand with the selling!

Year 1&2 will get the ball rolling on the 18th of October, then Year 3&4 will be next to step up to the plate – or possibly the cake stand – on the 8th of November. Keep an eye on the school calendar and newsletters for dates.

All the fun of the fair

Over two thousand pounds was raised for Fishergate School after a fun community Summer Fair earlier this week!

As well as Fishergate classics; face painting, marshmallow toasting, tomboloas-a-plenty, Whack a Rat and Spin the Wheel, new activities like Beat the Keeper, throwing sponges at people in the Stocks and a fabulous Karaoke set up kept the kids amused, happy and active the whole day.

The sun was kind to us and the barbecue and bar did a roaring trade. Afternoon Tea was a hit and the ice cream queue was never ending. With plenty of shaded gazebos and lots of tables and chairs to rest at, most people enjoyed themselves for the whole afternoon. An excellent juggling session wowed the crowds with a grand finale of exciting raffle wins and good old Tug-o-War.
