Christmas Fair Volunteers

Dads! Mums! Carers! Grandparents! We need you, the more helpers we have, the lighter the load becomes for us all.

DID YOU KNOW? Running a stall is made up of two shifts, each one taking 45 minutes. Volunteering for one shift means you can enjoy the festivities with your family.

This year, please say you’ll help cover a shift for the fair. Areas needing cover are: event set up, food & drinks, tombolas/games stalls, and the tidy up after. Get in touch at friendsoffishergateschool@gmail.com.

And a massive thank you to those who have already offered your time at the fair and to wrap presents, we literally could not make the school holiday magic happen without you!

Christmas Fair

Attached to this week’s school newsletter, which has been emailed to families, is our Christmas Fair poster. We have been working to bring new and exciting activities to the fair this year and cannot wait to share them with you!

Pre-Loved Uniform Stall

Thank you everyone for your brilliant support! The stall went beautifully on Monday. We had six large bags of new items donated, and unsurprisingly, many of the winter coats were taken, brrr, what a chilly week it has been.Friends of Fishergate

FoF Christmas Planning!

Thank you to everyone who came to our recent meeting! There was lots to discuss, and we have made a great start on planning our Christmas activities and you can read the minutes below.

We enthusiastically welcome ideas, support and time from all parents and carers at Fishergate as we plan discos, fairs, bake sales, uniform stalls, the school Christmas Shop, the visit and gift from Santa, and so much more. Our fundraising couldn’t happen without support and volunteering from the families at our school.

Friends of Fishergate (FoF) holds friendly, informal meetings each term. All parents and carers are welcome to send ideas and volunteer interest to friendsoffishergateschool@gmail.com at any time. Dates for upcoming meetings are shared in the school newsletter and on our Facebook page.

Thoughts from Friends of Fishergate

We’ve reached the halfway point of the term! We hope you all have a refreshing break. There’s plenty more in the works, but for now, a heartfelt thank you to all families, teachers and staff! Your incredible support has made it possible for us to hold bake sales, uniform stalls, the Christmas design project, disco and pumpkin contest. What a busy time we’ve had!

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our wonderful helpers. Without you our school events simply wouldn’t be possible. Our dedicated team at Friends of Fishergate works tirelessly behind the scenes and are the friendly faces you often see supporting our activities. The Return of the Famous FoF Bake Sales!

Bake sales are back and they are now on Mondays!

Every term, each phase group (Early Years, Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6) hosts a bake sale and the money raised goes goes directly back to their classrooms. By supporting our bake sales, you are directly benefiting your child at school. Sales can amount to £1,000 a year across the whole school! That amounts to classroom extras and rewards.

We welcome families to enjoy time baking together over the weekend before bringing donated items in for their group’s sale on the Monday. Store-bought items and fruit welcome as well.

Friends of Fishergate would like to share upcoming dates. Bake Sales: Monday 22nd September - Year 5/6; Monday 6th October - Year 3/4; Monday 10th November - Year 1/2; Monday 1st December - Early Years. Whether you buy or bake your donated bakes, please remember Fishergate is a nut-free school. Thanks you!
