Meet the Safeguarding Team
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.Fishergate School Safeguarding Policy
At Fishergate Primary School, we recognise that:
• The welfare of the child is paramount
• All children, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity, have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse
• Working in partnership with children, young people and their parents, carers and other agencies, is essential in promoting young people’s welfare
We work under the guidance of the Department for Education. For further information please see Keeping Children Safe In Education (Statutory Guidance for Schools and Colleges from the DfE) and the School Policies page.
As part of the safeguarding support from the Local Authority, Hilary and Jackie have been allocated as Fishergate School’s link workers. They will support staff and parents with safeguarding needs and concerns whilst also offering advice and signposting to other agencies and organisations.
