Tennis and Cricket Festivals
The month of June saw a whole host of partnership competitions involving children from Fishergate. Both the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams put in excellent performances at the annual tennis competitions at Wigginton Tennis Club. The Year 5/6 team narrowly missed out on the finals after finishing second in their league, with both William Hargreaves and Bella Gibson winning all their games. Likewise, the Year 3/4 team put in some excellent performances, with Lucas Whitehead and Martha Beer to the fore.
Dunnington Cricket Club hosted their annual cricket tournament later in the month, again hosting both Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 competitions. The Year 3/4 team in particular performed extremely well, winning both their group and semi-final only to narrowly lose out to the hosts in the final.
