Bodhi’s first assembly with Y5/6

Hello everyone!

It’s Bodhi here with my weekly update. This week I went to my very first Year 5/6 assembly. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but one of my lovely Year 5 friends sat beside me the whole time to help me feel calm and confident. I tried my best to listen carefully and sit nicely—although I might have wagged my tail a bit too loudly!

Tina said she thinks the children were paying more attention to me than to her, but I promise I wasn’t trying to steal the show. I just can’t help being adorable.

I’m looking forward to more adventures around school next week. Until then—big wags and happy paws!Bodhi

Bodhi discovers Autumn – and snow!

Woof woof everyone! It’s Bodhi here. I’ve been having the BEST time this autumn. The river path is full of crunchy leaves, perfect for sniffing and zooming through — sometimes one even sticks to my nose!

And I’ve just been on my first-ever walks in the snow. At first I wasn’t sure about the cold, fluffy stuff, but then I realised it’s like a sparkly carpet. I left pawprints everywhere, tried to catch snowflakes on my tongue, and I’m still learning that snowballs aren’t snacks… even though they look delicious!Bodhi

Salvation Army Christmas Gift Appeal

Every year the Salvation Army collects gifts and toys for children and teenagers who receive very little at Christmas – and this year they need our help more than ever. Last year, they distributed toys and gifts to over 500 children from York and the surrounding area – and our school donated over 100 toys towards this appeal.

If you would like to donate any new gifts, for children aged 0-17, please pass them to your child to bring into school between now and the end of November.

The Salvation Army will come and collect any donated gifts on December 1st and give them to local children and teenagers who need them the most.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL GIFTS NEED TO BE NEW AND UNWRAPPED.

All gifts/toys are much appreciated, however they have made a request for board games and puzzles for 7 to 10 year olds and games for teenagers.

We do appreciate that this is an expensive time of year, so please do not feel obligated to bring in a gift. Any support for this charity appeal would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Fishergate School

A Waggy Tail Trip by Train!

Woof hello everyone!

I had such an exciting half term. I went on a big adventure all the way from York to Reading on the train! I’ll be honest — I was a bit nervous at first. Trains are noisy and they wobble quite a lot! But once I realised I could have a nice snooze and get extra cuddles, I started to enjoy it. The best bit was meeting a new dog friend called Lewis. We ran around, played chase, and shared toys (well… mostly!)Bodhi

Fishergate officially recognised as a School of Sanctuary

We are delighted to have been awarded as a School of Sanctuary!

Fishergate is the first school in York to become a School of Sanctuary, Feedback from the appraisal team described Fishergate as ‘truly exceptional’.

The award is a reflection of the efforts and commitment of the whole school community: pupils, staff, parents and governors and we are immensely proud of this achievement.
