The 31st October, which is the closing date for secondary school applications, is fast approaching! Have you remembered to complete and submit an application for your child’s secondary school place in September 2026?
Please note that applying early does not give any priority but to have the best chance of your application being successful, and getting a place at your choice of school, you should complete and submit your application by the deadline. Applications can still be made after this date, but may be looked at after other applications have been considered.

Bodhi has enjoyed having some company on his lunchtime walks and is looking forward to the arrival of a double handled lead so that the children can have a go at holding him alongside me (if they want to!) It is also a great chance for me to have a good chat with a few children at a time and to find out about what they have been getting up to.
Bodhi had his second PAWs visit on Thursday and he did brilliantly. Rachel could see how happy and comfortable he was in school and gave us some top tips to help with his barking, although it has already got so much better!
Another good week in the life of a school dog! Bodhi has has fun playing ‘Find It’ with small groups of children on the school field. He has also had some more company on his lunchtime walks by the river. We will be starting to timetable this more formally in the coming weeks so the children know when their turn is coming with Bodhi is coming. We will still be very mindful of how young is he though and will make sure that we aren’t expecting too much of him. He is still a dog who loves (and needs) his sleep!
We have some dates booked in for ‘show rounds’ in our Early Years Unit for September 2026 new starters:
