Working together to support children and families

The school’s pastoral care has been spot on and the learning environment is one all the kids thrive on. The atmosphere in the school is a very happy one and the school deserves to be very proud of what it has created.

What is parent partnership? It is Fishergate School and you, our parents and carers, working together to make things better for your child.

  • We can help in many ways beyond supporting your child in their academic progress. We feel passionate about the development of the whole child and we are trained to support them in their physical, emotional and social development too.
  • We recognise that an unhappy child cannot learn effectively; their well-being comes first.
  • There are times when families find life difficult for many reasons and we are here to help parents and carers too. We have helped families with issues around housing, mental health and financial difficulties for example.
  • And if we don’t have the answer, we will contact someone who does on your behalf.

Please feel able to approach us if you wish to discuss a concern confidentially – we are here to help

The teachers know not just every child’s name but every parent too, that just doesn’t happen in every school.

We are delighted that the Thursday Coffee Mornings with Friends of Fishergate have been able to make a comeback! 9-10am weekly in the staff room. Free tea & Coffee and often a good biccie or bake if you are lucky! An inclusive and informal space to meet other parents, make a connection and to get your day off to a good start. Turnout has been positive so far with parents from all year groups into the mix. Young siblings are welcome. Pop in and join us sometime. ☕
